Troy Ingram is running for the Republican nomination to serve on the Delaware County Board of Commissioners representing District 2. The primary will be held on May 7.

Ingram previously served as an at-large member of the Muncie City Council. As the Star Press reported, he was elected to that office in 2019.

On his campaign Facebook page, Ingram highlights his community service, raising awareness and funds for local veterans and the homeless.

According to his LinkedIn page, Ingram worked as a maintenance supervisor at Walnut Commons, LLC, and as a welder at Progress Rail Services. He also spent nearly 11 years in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he was a helicopter powerplant tech, cavalry scout, and mechanized infantryman.

In a press release, RED PAC Chief Strategist Charlie Kolean endorsed Ingram, naming him as a candidate that  "shares our values of supporting private property rights, championing fiscal responsibility, and tirelessly working towards enhancing government transparency." Kolean said that Ingram "[reflects] the conservative ideals that guide our efforts in rural economic development.”

According to their website, the Delaware County Board of Commissioners act as both executive and legislative bodies for the county. Commissioners are charged with enacting ordinances and administering county business, including e.g. road construction, repair, and maintenance, zoning and planning and regulating housing and building regulations, and receiving work bids and authorizing county contracts. The commission is made up of three members, each representing one district, who are elected to staggered four-year terms.
