Wyatt Blake Named Men's MAC Diver of the Week
Ball State senior Wyatt Blake has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Diver of the Week after his performance at the Miami Aquatic Center last weekend.
Blake opened the Miami Classic with a third-place finish on the 1M board on Friday (Feb. 10), with a finals score of 291.65.
He followed up with an even more impressive performance Saturday (Feb. 11), breaking the Ball State 3M record with a preliminary round score of 359.25. He went on to place first overall in the 3M competition with a final round score of 351.10. Both of his scores topped the previous program record of 344.25 set by Dave Keener in 1991.
This is Blake's second MAC Diver of the Week award this season and the third overall for his career. In addition, he has won five of his last six events for the Cardinals after sweeping the diving events at the Butler Invite (Jan. 29) and in a home dual meet versus Anderson (Jan. 28).
Blake, and the rest of Ball State men's swimming and diving program, return to action March 1-4 for the MAC Championships in Oxford, Ohio, hosted by Miami.
