On March 26, 2025, Rep. Victoria Spartz criticized Congress's financial practices in a tweet stating: "Congress cannot continue lying to the American people & destroying our country financially using accounting gimmicks - 'current policy baseline', @SenateGOP." She further emphasized the need for accountability by pointing out that total spending increased from $4.5 trillion to $7 trillion within five years.
