Rep. Victoria Spartz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana's 5th district, has expressed concerns over the fiscal policies of the United States through a series of tweets. The congresswoman, who has served since 2021 and was born in Nosivka, Ukraine in 1978, highlights issues related to budget deficits and government borrowing.

On May 16, 2025, Rep. Spartz tweeted that "Runaway budget deficits mean U.S. government borrowing will balloon at an accelerating rate, pushing interest rates up over the long term." This statement underscores her concern about the impact of growing budget deficits on future interest rates.

In another tweet posted on May 16, she quoted Moody’s saying that "Successive U.S. administrations and Congress have failed to agree on measures to reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs.” She further cited Moody's assessment: “We do not believe that material multi-year reductions in mandatory spending and deficits.”

Two days later, on May 18, Spartz highlighted discrepancies between government obligations and revenue by tweeting: "Last year, the government had total obligations of $15 trillion .. $7 trillion ..to fund ..operations..$8 trillion ..to pay maturing debts.. revenue was only $5 trillion … $10 trillion shortfall..” “The United States Is Insolvent — Not Bankrupt, Yet."

Victoria Spartz resides in Noblesville and holds a BS from Kyiv National Economic University since graduating in 2000.
