New Castle Prison Ministry on Oct 16

New Castle Prison Ministry

Who: Adults (18+)

When: The 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month

What: We lead the Prison Chapel Worship Service.

If you would like more information, contact Phil and Joy Pinegar or the Church Office.

Each member of the Westminster Presbyterian prison ministry team has

felt the Lord’s call to minister to the New Castle Correctional Facility. We

carry out this call by conducting worship services at the prison on the

first, third, and fifth Sunday afternoons of each month. Each

service begins with a greeting time where the members of the ministry

team extend the right hand of fellowship to every offender. The worship

consists of the team leading the singing which is followed by the teaching

of God’s word. The service is then concluded by having the offenders

share testimonies and prayer requests.

The ministry team meets at the church parking lot to car pool to the

prison at 1:15PM. The drive is approximately 30 minutes long and we

return to the church by 4:15pm or 4:30pm.

Any individual who is interested in becoming a member of the ministry

team has the opportunity to visit 3 times as a guest volunteer. After 3

visits, the volunteer is required to attend a training session before he/she

can be re-admitted. A guest volunteer’s name must be included on a

gate release before he/she can enter the prison. A guest volunteer must

notify Phil or Joy Pinegar if they wish to attend at lead 1 to 2 weeks in

advance of any Sunday so their name can be added to the gate release.

If you are interested in joining this rewarding ministry, please contact any

member of our team for details. We are eager to share the many

blessings we have received while in this ministry.
